Celebrating Older People
September 26, 2007
As part of International Older Persons Day on October 1st everyone over 50 is invited to the Aman Centre in Aberdare for some fun taster sessions and exhibitions in Dance, Cooking, Indian Head Massage and much more!
Beginning at 10.30am and finishing at 3pm on October 1st the event is free and there is no need to book a place, just come along.
Established in 1990 by the United Nations this day of celebration welcomes its seventeenth year of remembering older people and their place and importance in society.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s event - sponsored by the Strategy for Older People, Communities First and Adult Education - hopes to show older people what there is on offer to them in and around the County Borough.
Councillor John David, Older Persons Champion and Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Services said, “It is important for people to remain healthy and active throughout their lives and not only will this event offer advice but it will also give people the opportunity to get involved in activities that they may not have considered before.”
