About Penderyn

Penderyn is a small rural village in the Cynon Valley, the northernmost village in Rhondda Cynon Taff, situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Penderyn is home to many groups, clubs, societies and projects, as well as Church and Chapel, a Junior School, two pubs, a thriving Community Centre and much else.

Penderyn is home to the world-famous Welsh Whisky Company and Penderyn Farmers Market which is run by the Community of Penderyn.

Notable Penderyn People

  • David Wynne (1900 - 1983) was a prolific Welsh composer who was born in Penderyn
  • Nansi Selwood is a Welsh language writer and historian. In 2003, she joined the Gorsedd of Bards.
